An award should go to the Virgin Airlines gate attendant in Sydney some months ago for being smart and funny, while making her point, when confronted with a passenger who probably deserved to fly as cargo.

A crowded Virgin flight was cancelled after Virgin's 767s had been > >withdrawn from service. A single attendant was re-booking a long line of inconvenienced travellers. Suddenly an angry passenger pushed his way to the desk. He slapped his ticket down on the counter and said, "I HAVE to be on this flight and it HAS to be FIRST CLASS".

The attendant replied, "I'm sorry, sir. I'll be happy to try to help you, but I've got to help these people first, and I'm sure we'll be able to work something out." The passenger was unimpressed. He asked loudly, so that the passengers behind him could hear, "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHO I AM?"

Without hesitating, the attendant smiled and grabbed her public address microphone: "May I have your attention please, may I have your attention please," she began - her voice heard clearly throughout the terminal. "We have a passenger here at Gate 14 WHO DOES NOT KNOW WHO HE IS. If anyone can help him find his identity, please come to Gate 14."

With the folks behind him in line laughing hysterically, the man glared at the Virgin attendant, gritted his teeth and said, "Fuck You!"

Without flinching, she smiled and said, "I'm sorry, sir, but you'll have to get in line for that too."

    Hey, I've really enjoyed reading your post...and I can't believe that I actually live in the same area as another LIASONITE...I thought that I was the only one...I'm glad to see that there is another LIASONITE...living near me...now I don't feel so alone...I really look forward to reading your post take care.

    Hi, Rebecca. Hope all's well on your end. Thank you for your kind words. :) On the pregnancy front, I unfortunately have some mixed news to report. I had my first sonogram yesterday. If the dates are correct, I should be around 9 weeks and 2 days pregnant. However, in the sono, they saw a fetal pole, but no heartbeat, and it measured at around just under 6 weeks. They told me it's possible that means I had a "missed abortion" or "missed miscarriage." They're doing some blood tests, and I'm supposed to have another sonogram in 7 - 10 days. It's possible that everything's ok, but it's also quite possible that it's not. Right now it's a waiting game. I am worried, but I keep telling myself that we don't have any definitive news yet, and I have to accept the things I can't change -- whatever they may be. We were going to tell our families about the pregnancy this Friday, but now we're not going to say anything because of this mixed news.

    On top of that, we move into a house this Saturday, so there's plenty to do there. Life stops for no one!

    P.S.
    A blog isn't a bad idea. Writing is a good outlet. I'll let you know if I start one.

    Hey! Thanks for asking to be friends, it makes me feel all image. I'm still getting the hang of this new Yuku board but it seems kind of cool. At least I have managed to update my profile page anyway. your page is very pretty, by the way.

    It also saddens me, because I do not know how to make a frozen banana.
    I mean, there's a banana, and then it's frozen, and then you dip it in something, but WHAT do you dip it in?! I can't figure it out. :|
